Want to build a career, earn an industry qualification and help make a real difference to our customers? Join us as a Procurement Apprentice and learn how great contracts can improve homes, services and customer safety. Procurement connects teams across Citizen with the suppliers they need to deliver safe homes and reliable services. As our Procurement Apprentice, you will work with colleagues across multiple departments, customers and suppliers to help plan and coordinate contracts for essential works, goods and services. You will learn from experienced procurement professionals who will share their knowledge and involve you in meaningful work from the start. You will build practical skills, gain a clear understanding of procurement and work towards a CIPS Level 3 or 4 apprenticeship, depending on your experience. No two projects will be the same. You will bring people together from teams including Asset Management, Building Safety, Development and Human Resources, helping them turn their needs into well-run procurement projects. You will also work with suppliers and customers, build positive relationships and help coordinate high-value contracts from early planning through to award and delivery. Your work will have a visible impact. By asking the right questions, checking suppliers carefully and helping teams manage contract risks, you will support safer homes and better outcomes for customers. You will also help us secure and track social value, so that our contracts bring wider benefits to communities across the West Midlands. Our usual hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, and we can discuss flexibility if you need it. What you will do: Work with colleagues across Citizen to understand what they need and help turn those needs into clear procurement plans. Help lead and coordinate procurement projects for high-value contracts covering works, goods and services. Build productive relationships with departments, customers and suppliers, keeping people informed and helping projects move forward. Use research and information about costs, spending, markets and supply chains to help colleagues make sound decisions. Ask questions, share advice and influence decisions so that contracts deliver quality, value and safer outcomes for customers. Check new suppliers carefully, complete supplier set-up and help identify and raise risks before contracts begin. Help run fair, effective tenders that meet UK procurement rules and Citizen’s policies. Track the social value promised through contracts and contribute clear information for Citizen’s environmental, social and governance reporting. Keep the e-Procurement Portal, Contract Register, Sourcing Plan, Benefits Register and procurement guidance accurate and up to date. Share practical guidance and training with colleagues, customers and suppliers, and bring useful ideas from inside and outside Citizen back to the team. What you will bring: Clear, confident communication and a willingness to work with people across different teams. Real interest in building a career in procurement and learning about social housing. A customer-first approach and a desire to help provide safe, reliable homes and services. Energy, curiosity and the confidence to ask questions, share ideas and follow tasks through.
